The Regional Institution
The term “Region” designates the territorial collective as a whole, i.e. the elected, deliberative assembly (Regional Council), the consultative assembly, the Economic, Social and Environnemental Council of Alsace (CESER-Alsace) and the regional Administration.
The Regional Council of Alsace
This is the deliberative assembly of Region Alsace. It comprises 47 Regional Councillors elected for a term of four years.
The Economic, Social and Environnemental Council of Alsace - CESER Alsace
The Economic, Social and Environnemental Council of Alsace is a consultative assembly representing the life blood of the region. Made up of socio-professionals, representing professional, union and associative organisations, it is appointed by the Region's Prefect for six years.
The CESER Alsace must be consulted by the Regional Council on the broad orientations of regional policy (such as the budget, for example). It carries out studies on its own initiative or at the request of the President of the Regional Council.
